Each May, Paragon Rehabilitation celebrates our outstanding Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP’s) during Better Hearing and Speech Month (BHSM). BHSM provides an opportunity to bring awareness of the role of SLP’s and the importance of the provision of their interventions in the post-acute and long-term care settings. The American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA) announced the theme for BHSM 2021 is, “Building Connections.” Paragon SLP’s know the importance of building connections with our residents, the interdisciplinary team in our campuses, and within the community. Building connections and rapport with the residents allows SLP’s and other employees to get to know them, improves trust, and increases patient satisfaction. Building connections in the interdisciplinary team improves patient care, team morale, and employee satisfaction. Building connections and networking in the community will allow for increased access to healthcare and resources and potentially foster referral opportunities. Through building connections, SLP’s help to improve the quality of life for our residents. Thank your SLP today for their role in improving the quality of life of our residents. Please join us in celebrating Better Hearing and Speech Month!
